Ragamuffin, anyone?

"what makes authentic disciples is not visions, ecstasies, biblical mastery of chapter and verse, or spectacular success in the ministry, but rather a capacity for faithfulness, a willingness to return to the cross despite often fatal imperfections. Authentic disciples may have stumbled and frequently fallen, endured lapses and relapses, yet they keep coming back to Jesus."

Authenticity... what a beautiful word. What a beautiful, and yet startlingly painful concept. To be authentic... hand crafted.... a masterpiece, not a copycat. Not standard, stock, reproduced, replaceable, interchangeable, not just another ordinariness... but rather to be one of a kind, absolutely unique. To embrace everything that is not common... to be as you really are, complete in and of yourself. If only we embrace it. I so want to be authentic, always.

p.s. there's this boy... and I like him
